The winner of The Stage scholarship is announced!
Huge congratulations to Isobel Ryder for winning a year’s scholarship with us with The Stagenewspaper, which is the oldest and most prestigious performing arts publication in the UK.

Isobel, age 14, has been selected as the winner in a recent competition and will be awarded a year’s free tuition, which equates to more than 100 hours of exceptional performing arts training worth over £700.

Razzamataz would like to thank each and every student who entered, you were all wonderful and we encourage you to try again next year. This wonderful opportunity gives all children the chance to join in because all that is required is a love of performing arts regardless of formal training.

For Isobel’s winning entry, she performed an extra from Sondheim’s Into the Woods, a challenging song that showcased her vocal and acting abilities.

“I was really shocked when I got the phone call to say I’d won the scholarship. The feedback I had from the judge was brilliant but has also given me some things to work on. I can’t wait for the next year at Razzamataz, I’ve had so much fun there already and I’m really looking forward to working hard and seeing what I can achieve by this time next year.”

Razzamataz are currently closed due to Covid-19 but are currently planning their reopening. Once open, alongside their weekly Saturday sessions, Isobel will have the opportunity to participate in many of the excitingevents that happen every term at Razzamataz such as performing opportunities, masterclasses with industry experts and access to their exclusive Razz Project Intense classes which focus on preparing students for drama school auditions and ultimately a career in the Performing Arts industry.
A special mention also goes to Ciara Holmes who was the runner up for the Stage Scholarship winning a 50% scholarship at Razz Project Intense, on entering the Scholarship Ciara said the following:

“I joined Razzamataz Sheffield a year ago and it has boosted my confidence so much, everyone there is amazing.”

Ciara will receive tuition in ballet, strength / flexibility and lyrical dance as just some of the areas that are covered in Razz Project Intense. These classes are perfect for students with a passion for dance or those who wish to pursue a career as a performer.

The weekly Saturday classes cover the key fundamental areas that prepare students wishing to pursue further training but the area of dance encompasses a whole range of subjects that aren’t able to be explored in one hour of dance on a Saturday.
