A little about me...

Helen Bell, Principal of Razzamataz Sheffield, launched the school in September 2012 after working for the company for four years as a Vocal Coach in Cumbria. In 2010, she graduated with a First Class Joint Honours degree in Drama & Musical Theatre from Cumbria Institute of the Arts. Her performing credits included Gertrude in Seussical, Valerie in Road and Drowsy in The Drowsy Chaperone. After her degree Helen went on to work at Razzamataz Head Office teaching in Centre Parcs and managing schools in the North. She continues to have a heavy involvement in their West end productions and now Disney. Helen is very passionate about Razzamataz and the wonderful experiences provided for students. Every child that attends our classes works hard to be the very best they can be and it is a pleasure to see them grow, develop and enjoy themselves week on week.


Melanie Simpson

Assistant Principal & Teacher

Melanie is 25 years old and graduated from the Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama in 2012. She also has a BTEC National Diploma in Musical Theatre and a wide range of experience working and performing in the musical theatre industry. She spent the Christmas season touring South Yorkshire with Stage Door Productions playing Jane in Mother Goose. Melanie has lots of energy and enthusiasm and loves keeping fit and being active. In her spare time she loves socialising with friends, going to music festivals and to the theatre. Melanie is very passionate about her work and has been with Razzamataz Sheffield since day one!

Clare Jones

Tots Teacher and Vocal Coach

Dancing from the age of 6, Clare always wanted to be a performer. At 18, she moved to London to pursue her passion at Italia Conti Theatre Academy where she trained in all aspects of performing arts. After graduating, Clare has had a varied and exciting career; her TV/Film credits include The Brit Awards 2004, Celebrity Big Brother, The Friday Night Project & Fatal Attraction. Her theatre credits include The Royal Masonic Variety Show and the US Tour of Dancing Queen to name a few. Clare has been with Razzamataz since their launch and is very passionate about delivering exciting classes to our students!

Carly Wildes

Choreographer and Dance Teacher

Carly started her dance training at the age of 3 at a local dance school and went on to study GCSE and A-Level dance finally moving onto Professional Dance College graduating in 2011. She has performed in a number of showcases including with the support act for American singer/songwriter T-Pain, in music videos and for the Sheffield Sharks Basketball Team. As well as performing she has taught in a variety of settings and has a wealth of teaching experience. Other than dancing her hobbies are shopping and looking after her dog Gizmo. She always enjoys challenging our students and exploring all the fantastic talent we have!

Claudia Dawe

Razz Fit Instructor and Dance/Drama Teacher

Claudia is 28 and from the North East. Fun, outgoing and friendly, she is dedicated to the performing industry. After training in Musical Theatre, she graduated in 2009 with a National Diploma and ALCM. Her passion for dance has been strong since a young age where she started her dance training in Disco Freestyle, street and rock and roll during her school years. Currently part of a vocal harmony group, for which she is also head choreographer, Claudia regularly gigs up and down the country and also does a Katy Perry tribute act! She has also played lead roles in pantomimes and a Sony PSP Go! commercial. Claudia has worked a number of times for Razzamataz at First choice Holiday Villages in Ibiza and Costa Del Sol. She has recently completed a Personal Training course and is working closely with Helen to develop our new Razz Fit sessions.

Cristina Carter

Minis 2 Teacher and Front of House Assistant

Cristina (we call her Nina!) studied performing arts at college and then completed her Drama degree at Liverpool John Moores University, graduating in July 2014 before continuing her training at Manchester School of Acting. She has just returned from teaching for Razzamataz Head Office in the Kos First Choice Holiday Village and has recently secured a place with Urban Talent Acting Agency. You’ll see Nina smiling away on our front desk from 10-4.30pm after teaching Minis 2.

Becci Mason

Drama Teacher

Becci has been working as a theatre practitioner and actor since 2000 and has been involved in musical theatre since the age of 9. After graduating from Bishop Grosseteste University with an Arts In the Community (Drama) degree, Becci has worked professionally within the arts industry across the country. Her credits include film & theatre acting but also creating/running youth theatres and writing, directing and touring Theatre in Education. Becci also has a wealth of teaching experience and is excited for the new term!

Becky Davis

Minis and Drama Teacher

Rebecca is extremely passionate about
the Performing Arts, specifically trained
and qualified in both Dance and Drama.
Rebecca began her journey of Performing
from a young age and went on to study a
Joint Honours Degree in Dance and Drama
at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Moving straight into a professional career
as a Dance Captain in France. This led her
to her passion of teaching and went back
to University to study a Professional Graduate Certificate in Education. Since then Rebecca continues to Perform frequently, works as a Freelance Dance and Drama Practitioner and runs a successful Health & Wellness business. Her main passion now lies with inspiring young people through creative arts and making a real difference to the wellbeing of others through the use of Drama and Dance.

Caroline Hallam

Vocal Coach

Caroline studied acting at Birmingham School of Acting and has performed as an actor, musician and singer all over the UK. Caroline's love of singing has led her to perform with numerous vocal ensembles in many exciting venues such as festivals, caves, castles and on a canal boat! Caroline was commissioned by the homeless charity CRISIS to write and develop a play and workshop about youth homelessness and has worked extensively, most recently with Sheffield Music Hub,facilitating singing projects, performances and workshops in primary schools. She is thrilled to be part of the Razzamataz team as Vocal Coach for Juniors and Inters and very much looking forward to getting stuck in to sessions!

Anna, Shanna, Ella, Chelsie, Emily and Lucy

Classroom Assistants for Minis, Juniors and SEN

Our classroom assistants are all experienced within the performing arts and have a passion for working with children. Anna has a degree in Drama and works freelance as an actor alongside other projects. Ella is a former Razzamataz Senior student and is currently completing a degree in Primary school teaching with a goal to work with children with SEN. Shanna has a degree in the performing arts and Chelsie has recently graduated and beginning her career within acting. Jenny recently graduated from MADD with a qualification in Musical Theatre and Emily works as a Teaching Assistant in a Sheffield SEN school. Our classroom assistants are constantly on hand to ensure your little ones are happy and safe throughout all of their classes.
