Razzamataz Sheffield students take to the West End stage

It was a night of pride, joy and happy tears when children from Razzamataz Sheffield took to the West End to be part of a gala performance at London’s Shaftesbury Theatre, home to the musical & Juliet. For one night only, the cast made way for Razzamataz to put on an outstanding show, featuring songs, music and drama.

The commitment, talent, dedication and teamwork were on stage for all to see with the young people demonstrating absolute professionalism and a total love for performing. The cast of 25 brought to life the incredible songs and storytelling that had the audience cheering along with the young performers. Titled ‘Because we can, can, CAN!’ the students and their teachers rehearsed together for months to prepare for this incredible event.

The show review for the piece reflected the high standards of commitment from the students and the hard work that the teachers and Principal put in to ensure each performer felt confident and could get the most out of the experience.

“Confident vocals enabled the students to put their own unique spin on classic pop songs as they performed extracts from the Moulin Rouge. Fierce and fiery street dance and strong partner work made the dance element of the piece really pop. A mature and sophisticated homage to this hugely popular West End show.”

The feedback so far has been incredible with the audience of friends, families and VIPs sending in many lovely compliments including the following.

“Thank you all so much for giving Libby the chance to have such an amazing day performing at Shaftesbury theatre. She loved it!! She has enjoyed the fabulous teaching and lessons leading up to this as well as the actual day. The whole experience has been really valuable to her and so much fun. Well done to you all!”
