Future Fund Scholarship audition success

Future Fund scholarship audition success
We are delighted to announce that Joe Downs has been awarded a prize of £100 after taking part in our Future Fund scholarship auditions. The Razzamataz charity has once again come to assistance of families and offering some financial help for students going on to further their performing arts training at college. While every business has felt financial pressure, Razzamataz were absolutely adamant that we would press ahead with our Future Fund auditions and continue to provide grants for the graduates of 2020.
Joe has been offered a place at SLP College where he will be fine tuning all his skills that he learnt at Razzamataz to become a triple threat performer.

“Being part of the Future Fund was an amazing way to end my time as a student at Razzamataz as it gave me the opportunity to audition in front of industry professionals. Even though I didn’t win the scholarship it was a fun experience and I was up against amazing performers. I am so grateful to have received £100 to help me with my education at SLP College.”

The judges were impressed by his focus and well-prepared audition, which is very important in this competitive industry. The also commented on his high standard of choreography to showcase his dance ability.

The Future Fund is just one of the many opportunities that Razzamataz students can take advantage of. Being part of a network of performing arts professionals has allowed students to take part in many workshops run by industry professionals as well as amazing performing opportunities at Her Majesty’s Theatre in the West End, Disneyland Paris and the 02 in London. Kerry Ellis, a leading lady on Broadway and the West End has also worked with students before and is delighted with the support that the Future Fund charity provides.

“I love Razzamataz and If there had been something like this around when I was younger, I would have been beside myself,” says Kerry. “I was lucky enough to get to work with some of the young inspiring students and their enthusiasm and passion they had was mind-blowing. Having scholarships to support and help young people find a way into performing is a very special and invaluable opportunity and I can’t wait to see what the future brings for them.”

While schools remain closed, Razzamataz Sheffield is offering small, interactive online classes as well as lots of free activities to engage children via social media. Plans are being made for this year’s Summer sessions and the entire network is preparing for their COVID-Secure reopening, which includes meeting all safety standards as set out by the Head Office.

Razzamataz are thrilled to be hosting a day of workshops with some of the industry’s leading professionals and performers! Sunday 28th June should have been their annual show case at Sheffield City Hall but unfortunately 2020 had other things in store for us. To still make the day special they have got a top line up of professional performers to work with their students.

They will be welcoming not one, not two but three West End stars to their Virtual Studio including the renowned Layton Williams who has taken the performing world by storm with his performance of Everybody’s Talking about Jamie. Below is more information on the amazing artists Razzamataz will be welcoming one week today.
