Congratulations To Our 2021 The Stage Scholarship Winner!

And the winner is …

A huge congratulations to our scholarship winner Bethan Rose Panter and all the entrants to this year’s scholarship auditions in association with The Stage newspaper.

The scholarships were open to all young people between the ages of 6-18. Both current Razzamataz students and those that haven’t had any formal training, were eligible to apply. For young people who have had to continue their practice at home while in lockdown or isolating, they have shown a huge amount of drive and determination.
The standard was incredibly high and our judges had their work cut out for them. After much deliberation, Bethan was announced as the winner and will receive a scholarship for a year’s worth of tuition with us.
Each applicant filmed themselves doing a short performing arts piece of their choosing.
Bethan really impressed our judge, Shekinah McFarlane, below are some of her comments on the winner:
“WOW WOW WOW!!!!
For someone who says they are shy, this entry has completely blown me away!! Your technique here is prevalent and wonderfully on show. You kept it in a really lovely place, so it didn’t become screechy or too ‘belty’ it was a wonderful audition tape.”
This is what Bethan had to say about winning the Stage Scholarship: “I am so surprised and pleased that they liked my audition video and chose me to win the Razzamataz scholarship. I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone in Sept and starting the classes. I love performing arts and I am so grateful for this opportunity to keep improving my skills and building my confidence. “
Razzamataz have worked alongside the prestigious newspaper for the performing arts industry The Stage for a number of years and together they have created an exciting scholarship opportunity for children and young people living locally.  The school awarded £1170 worth of free tuition between Bethan and the runner ups Faith and Heidi-Jo to support and further their performing arts training.
“We are so proud to once again offer this prestigious scholarship in association with The Stage newspaper,” says Helen Bell, Principal of Razzamataz Sheffield. “We know what a positive impact the performing arts can offer all children so we are so pleased that we have continued this exceptional offer. Our classes help to develop confidence, teamwork, resilience and can help with both physical and mental health. The lockdowns have really shined a light on the fact that more needs to be done in these areas so we are really delighted to be part of the movement to promote the arts.”
