Savanna Darnell from Sheffield has returned to her first love of theatre arts and has inspired the next generation of performers at Razzamataz Sheffield. Having returned from her stint on ITV’s Love Island, Savanna is revisiting her role in Thriller Live, a globe-trotting West End musical which celebrates the career of Michael Jackson.
The young singer and dancer has plenty of experience already having featured in commercials since she was a tiny tot. In fact, show businesses run through her veins thanks to her famous father, August Darnell, an American musician who performs as Kid Creole in the famous band Kid Creole and the Coconuts.
The Razzamataz students got a chance to learn some of the high energy dance routines from the show and chat to Savanna about her experiences at college, auditions, and performing on a West End stage.
“It was such a fun experience and I loved the energy and the enthusiasm from the students at Razzamataz Sheffield,” said Savanna. “There’s certainly lots of talent in Sheffield and they were all really keen to get involved and impressed me with their hard work and mature behaviour. As a Sheffield girl, it is lovely to bring my experience back home to hopefully inspire the next generation.” |
